Secretary Blinken to Deliver Remarks at the Global Music Diplomacy Initiative Launch

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken will host the launch of the Global Music Diplomacy Initiative at 8:00 p.m. ET on Wednesday, September 27, at the Department of State. He will deliver remarks outlining the United States’ elevated commitment to use music to promote peace and democracy and present the Global Peace Through Music Award.
Secretary Blinken will be joined by Harvey Mason, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of the Recording Academy (GRAMMYs); Lyor Cohen, Global Head of Music for YouTube and Google; and David M. Rubenstein, Chairman of the Board, The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
The arrival and event are open to pre-registered writers and still photographers. Video cameras will be pooled for the Secretary’s remarks and the award presentation. Media who would like to cover in person must RSVP to ECA-Press@state.gov by 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
