Waco’s Ben Hagins not one to get ‘left’ behind

One of Waco’s preeminent south-of-silly golf swingers, Ben Hagins, recently won the Texas State Lefthanders Golf Tournament at the Links of Cleburne. Hagins, a longtime Wacoan and 1970 Baylor alum who was captain of the BU golf team during his time on campus, fired winning rounds of 74 and 72 in taking the title.You may also know Ben from his writing — he authored a book called “Slice of Heaven” in 2022, and is a regular contributor to the Tribune-Herald’s Letters to the Editor with his lighthearted poetry.
