Sometimes, it can be a supernatural fantasy-fueled world, and other times it can be a more ordinary teen drama. However, whether they be television shows or movies, some places are just dangerous to go to by nature. Sometimes, it can be easy to forget just how threatening a place can be when it looks like any other small town. But fictional small towns can be riddled with mystery, murder, or dark supernatural forces. For example, Hawkins, Indiana, was just another town until Eleven escapes and the Upside Down drags Will into a paranormal underworld. Afterward, Hawkins practically becomes ground zero for all supernatural activity.
Although it does not seem like it at first, once digging beneath the surface, Riverdale is more than just a town that enjoys its roots in Pop’s Diner and maple syrup. But Riverdale is not the only fictional town to bring chaos. Small town Mystic Falls has a rich history with the supernatural, which all comes bubbling up when Stefan and Damon Salvatore arrive in town. Unfortunately, the town’s bad luck with vampires, witches, and werewolves just keeps getting worse as the series continues, and Legacies eventually picks up where it left off. Although Pretty Little Liars was not a supernatural series, it certainly won some points for danger with all the stalkers following the girls around, the many murders in town, and the kidnappings.
