West Music celebrates 30 years of transforming lives with music therapy

West Music, a music retailer in eastern Iowa, is commemorating 30 years of delivering music therapy services with World Music Therapy Week from April 10 to 15.
The initiative began in 1994 with the hiring of Kirsten Nelson as their inaugural music therapist. Currently, West Music employs ten full-time music therapists operating across five locations.
These therapists facilitate sessions in diverse settings such as schools, group homes, hospitals and nursing homes. They use music as a tool to address social, cognitive, emotional and spiritual goals.
Music therapy, led by trained professionals, is recognized for its ability to help people of all ages.
